Allendale took on Sparta in the pouring rain on Monday.  The late in the season matchup kicked off right as the heaviest rain of the day began falling on the Falcon Soccer Field.  The game went back and forth for the first 10 minutes, when Maddy Brown took a shot from outside the box.  The ball skipped on the wet turf, and worked its way past the opposing keeper to put the falcons up 1-0. Sparta would respond later in the first half, evening the score 1-1.

Not to be outdone, the falcons continued to fight hard, and earned a corner kick late in the first half.  Maddy brown sent the ball in from the corner, and Kayla Matz finished off the inside of her foot.  The score at halftime was 2-1.  In the second, both teams had their chances, and Katelynne Tomasek came up huge for the falcons on a number of occasions, preserving the lead.  

The falcons earned the win in the rain, 2-1 over the Spartans of Sparta.  The Falcons close out the regular season on Wednesday, as they host cross town rivals Coopersville.
