Girls Junior Varsity Soccer vs. Coopersville HS School

Game Date
May 23, 2018
Score
: 4
COOPERSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: 2

The team played their last game of the season at home against next door rivals Coopersville.  The Broncos were the team to open the scoring early in the first half with a deep shot that sailed over the head of the Falcons and into the back of the net.  Allendale didn't take long to respond though, as Avery Terpstra worked her way through the Bronco defense, dished the ball of to Lauren Butterfield, who touched it right back. After the well worked ball, Terpstra had a wide open shot on net, which she burried to bring the game level.  Before half, Butterfield scored herself after winning the ball from a Bronco goal kick, and taking a look at goal, blasting it through the keepers hands and into the net.   The score at halftime was 2-1 in favor of Allendale.

In the second half, it was again Coopersville scoring first, as their forward earned a Penalty Kick after a foul inside the box.  The kick was excellently taken and put out of reach, again leveling the score.  The game was back and forth, until Kennadi Fuller found open space after a pass from Terpstra, scoring her 15th goal of the season.  The Falcons never looked back, controlling the ball for the last 20 minutes.  Avery Terpstea added another before the end of the game, bringing the final to 4-2.  Avery Terpsra has 21 goals in 17 games played on JV this season.

The season comes to a close with a final W/L record of 15-4.  This is the strongest record posted by a JV soccer team at Allendale.  Beyond the record, and more importantly, the season was incredibly successful because of the way the team came together as a family, and each player played for the team and not for themselves.  Each player on the team came with an attitude of wanting to improve each day, and each player had a tangible impact on the team over the course of the 19 game season.

The future looks bright for all of the ladies on the team, not just in soccer, but in life.  Thank you for an incredible ride.
