GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL: 2
The Varsity Falcons faced off against Catholic Central on a Friday night that quickly turned from sunny and warm to windy and cold. The Falcons and Cougars were back and forth for the first 10 minutes, until a Catholic Central player found the back of a net, putting the Cougars up by one. Catholic Central found the back of the net once more before halftime, and the score was 2-0 at half.
The Falcons fought back in the second half, controlling the possession for longer stretches of time, and creating a handful of opportunities. The defense was able to remain solid through the second half, and Senior Goalkeeper Amber Kolean was able to keep the Cougars from scoring. The final was 2-0 in favor of Catholic Central.
The first leg of the Battle of the Bridge takes place at Coopersville this Monday, with a Varsity kickoff of 6:45pm.
