It is always important to play hard, especially in conference matches, but the phrase "play hard" takes on a new meaning when Allendale and Coopersville meet in their two yearly contests.  Allendale played Coopersville, away on Monday night.  Both teams played hard and physical, and throughout the first half, the Bronco's seemed to have more control of the ball.  Junior Katelynne Tomasek had 5 saves in the first half, blocking out any chance that Coopersville had to jump out to an early lead.  The Falcons struggled to create chances in the first half, and both teams were scoreless after the first 40 minutes.

In the second half, Alledale jumped out and put the broncos on their toes.  Allendale was much more controlling in the second half, and that created more opportunities.  Coopersville didn't play defense the entire half however, and while the Falcons controlled possession, that didn't stop the Broncos from putting some serious shots on net.  Amber Kolean had 7 saves in the second half, all of them keeping Allendale in the hunt.  In the end, neither team was able to capitalize on the chances that they had, and the score ended in a 0-0 draw.  The battle for the bridge will come down to the last game of the regular season, May 23rd at Allendale's soccer stadium.

The Falcons, finally feeling like they are finding their form, host Spring Lake on Wednesday.  Kickoff is at 5:45pm.
