Typically, games in the first week of the season get postponed due to weather. This year was an exception though as the Falcons kicked off against Zeeland West with a temperature at game time of 36 degrees, and a windchill of 32.  

Zeeland West got on the board first after a ball served in from the corner bounced around and found its way into our net.  Three minutes after Zeeland West scored their goal, Lauren Butterfield served a ball through to Kennadi Fuller, and she slid the ball past the opposing keeper to make the game 1-1.  After the first goal, the Falcons never looked back, as Fuller and Butterfield both netted goals in closing minutes of the first half.  Zeeland West scored with a minute left before half to make the halftime score 3-2.

In the second half, the Falcons found their defense, as Hadley Detter recorded 5 of her game total 8 saves in the second half.  Allendale was able to move the ball well, as Avery Terpstra and Kennadi Fuller were again able to score in the second half, as the team pulled away for the 5-2 victory.

The Falcons are back in action this weekend at their home tournament hosed at the High School.  The first game kicks off at 10am.
