Tuesday evening the Falcons faced off against the Lakers of Spring Lake in a OK Blue conference matchup.  Although Allendale was able to control the game for the first 10 minutes, Spring Lake soon found their footing, and pressed against the Falcon defense.  After some miscommunications, Spring Lake was able to score twice in the first half.  Allendale found an opportunity to bounce back late in the first half as Kennadi Fuller received a ball in our attacking third, and sent it across the front of the goal to a wide open Addison DeMott, who easily found the back of the net.  The score at halftime was 1-2 in favor of Spring Lake.

In the second half, Allendale came out immediately on the defensive, and before the Falcons had a chance to set up the defense, Spring Lake scored their third goal of the game.  After the Laker's third goal, Allendale needed a spark of energy, which Avery Terpstra delivered.  After getting the ball from a pass by Anna Koning at half field, Terpstra took on the Spring Lake defense on her own and found the back of the net for her 5th goal of the season.  The team was re-energized, and played a high intensity game until the final whistle.  Unfortunately,  the Falcons were unable to control the ball well enough, and were unable to score for a third time. 

The Falcons look to return to form this Thursday against West Catholic High School.  The game kicks off at 5:00pm.
