Labeled as the underdogs in a tough season opener against Northview High School, Allendale proved that they are not a team that will bow lightly to pressure.  Early in the game, the play was almost back and forth with plenty of opportunities for each team.  Ten minutes into the game, Peyton Bond received a cross from Jeremy Wiersema, took one touch towards goal, and buried the ball in the back of the net.  Allendale led 1-0 at the half.  

On the defensive side of the ball, Goalkeeper Finn Aungst played out of his mind, making 10 saves, all of them critical in keeping Allendale's noses out front.  As the second half wore on, Northview netted two goals, both the result of players making runs through the box and redirecting a cross or shot. The final score was 2-1. 

In the end, Allendale proved that they have the ability and the heart to put themselves in a competative position regardless of the opponent.  Allendale now looks to their home opener against Lowell High School on Tuesday at 4pm.
